Questions people ask

Does Vyn come with anything to watch?

No. Vyn is a player for your own media server, files or IPTV subscription. It hosts and indexes nothing — see the content policy.

Do I need a media server?

For your own films, yes: Jellyfin, Emby, Plex or an SMB share. IPTV works separately.

Why does it need a modern OS?

Vyn uses current Apple technologies to deliver a native experience: tvOS 26.4, iOS 26 and macOS 26.

Will it transcode?

Only when a source cannot be streamed directly, such as a disc folder or ISO.

Is there an Android or Windows version?

No. Vyn is built specifically for Apple's platforms.

Where does my data go?

On your devices and, optionally, in your private iCloud database. Credentials stay in the system keychain. The privacy policy lists every service Vyn talks to and what each one receives.

When can I get it?

There isn't a date yet. This page will be updated when Vyn is ready.
